Bête Noire: Dog-eared Pages

Today's post is the first of a series. Each post focuses on one "bête noire", the French term for a pet peeve. This one is about dog-earing pages.

If you dog-ear the pages of your books, I already probably don't like you. It is one of the WORST things you can do to your books. Bending over the corners of your pages to mark your spot damages your books and is just all-around an awful thing to do.

There are so many better options out there. For example, probably the most popular option: using a bookmark! There are SO MANY bookmarks out there in the world.
There are fancy metal bookmarks,
character bookmarks,

free bookmarks from the police department,
lots of bookmarks. Trust me.

Even if you don't have a bookmark, you can use other things to mark your place.
Paint color strips,
tea packets,
the corner of your laptop, (if it's thin enough, like this)
even other books! (but please don't leave them open like this-- that'll be another post.)

Basically, there is absolutely no excuse for dog-earing pages, ESPECIALLY the pages of books that don't belong to you!
